Cookie Policy

  1. About cookies?

As clarified by the Privacy Guarantor in the FAQ of December 2012, cookies are “small text files” – formed by letters and numbers – “that the sites visited by users send to their computer (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit of the user“. Cookies have the function of streamlining the analysis of web traffic or to signal when a specific site or part thereof is visited, to distinguish between visitors in order to provide customised content, and help administrators to improve the site and the browsing experience of users. Through cookies we cannot access other information stored on your device, even if this is where cookies are downloaded. Cookies cannot upload codes of any kind, carry viruses or malware and are not harmful to the user’s computer.

Below you can find all the information on the cookies installed through this site, and the required information on how to manage your preferences in this regard.

  1. User consent to the use of cookies

By connecting for the first time to any page of the website, the user will see an information banner on the use of cookies that will allow to manage your installation preferences (consent).

The site remembers the choice made by the user, therefore the brief information will not be proposed again in the following connections from the same device. However, the user always has the option of withdrawing all or part of the consent already expressed through the appropriate link accessible in the footer of the site.

If you encounter technical problems related to the submission of consent, please contact us through the appropriate channels provided by this website to allow us to assist you.

  1. Duration of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • session cookies, which are stored persistently on the user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is closed, are strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers required to allow the safe and efficient browsing of the website avoiding the use of other computer techniques potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of users’ browsing;
  • persistent cookies, which remain stored on the hard drive of your computer until they expire or are deleted by users/visitors. Through persistent cookies, visitors who access the website (or any other users who use the same computer) are automatically recognised at each visit. Visitors can set their computer’s browser to accept/reject all cookies or display a warning whenever a cookie is proposed, in order to evaluate whether to accept or reject it. However, the user can change the default configuration and disable cookies (i.e. block them permanently), setting the highest level of protection.
  1. Type of cookies

Cookies can be:

  • first-party cookies, or cookies that report this website as a domain;
  • third-party cookies, or cookies that are related to external domains.

Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external party, always defined as a “third party”, not managed by the site.  Another type of cookie is the so-called “Flash Cookies” (Local Shared Objects), used within Adobe Flash Player to deliver certain content, such as video clips or animations, in order to remember settings and preferences. Flash cookies are stored on the device, but are managed through a different interface with respect to the one provided by the browser used.

We also use Facebook’s pixel technology, a (third-party) tool, consisting of a small programming code inserted on our site, which allows us to collect statistical data, monitor the actions taken on our site by visitors and create customised audience groups to show our ads in addition to exploiting many other related features.

  1. Nature of cookies

Regarding the nature of cookies, they are of several types:

– Technical cookies: those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly required to the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).

They are not used for other purposes and they are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into:

  • browsing or session cookies, which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access reserved areas); they are in fact required for the proper functioning of the site;
  • analytics cookies, (first-party) assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the website operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they browse the site itself, in order to improve the performance of the site;
  • functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to several selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided thereto. The prior consent of users is not required for the installation of these cookies (more information in the section Managing cookies below).

Analytics cookies (third-party): these types of cookies are not used directly by the site operator, but they are created and made available to third parties for statistical purposes. The website does not directly control individual cookies and cannot control them (it cannot install them directly or delete them). You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the websites indicated in the “Cookie management” section.

– Profiling cookies: these are aimed at creating profiles relating to the user and they are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user in the context of web browsing. The consent of the data subject is required for the use of profiling cookies.  You can still manage these cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions below), or the websites indicated in the “Cookie management” section.
