“Chinese propagator takes advantage of new outdoor spray booms”

“This week at the Hortiflorexpo IPM 2017 in Shanghai, Italian nursery equipment manufacturer Urbinati introduced several new innovative solutions to increase the efficiency of nursery operations throughout China.

Urbinati’s export manager Alessandro Mazzacano, explained that the busy and crowded trade show provided a great platform to introduce new innovations and discuss installations and automation solutions with installers, operators, distributors, growers and other visitors. “This year we introduced an outdoor version of our well-known irrigation boom. While this new boom has only been on the market for a short time now, we already received many inquiries for it and installed it at a satisfying number of customers.”

Mazzacano explained that this is a result of the increase in propagation spaces for vegetables, flowers and plants, but especially as a result of the growth within the forestry industry. “It’s a large industry that requires large outdoor propagation fields for the production of pines, acers, oaks and similar plants, but also eucalyptus and other crops.

Unlike other existing solutions that are already available on the market, Urbinati decided to introduce a dedicated outdoor version of their advanced and renowned irrigation boom. “It comes with a suspended trolley that resolves the problems that usually occur when the irrigation pipes are placed directly on the floor.”

Available in single or double post to facilitate the passage of trolleys on the field, the new Urbinati outdoor spray and irrigation boom has a reach distance of 250 meter length and a width of 20/25 meter. “This makes it a very efficient investment as it reduces the quantity of units needed per hectare”, Mazzacano said. “Despite this large size, the strong structure guarantees a high stability during high pressure irrigation action.”

Urbinati selected high quality suppliers of parts in order to offer advanced options such as a strong electric panel equipped with a robust, reliable touch screen. “The boom is very easy to operate by any worker, seen by the worldwide range of our booms, which are available in any language and user setting.”
